Moscow, Russia, 9 March 2010 – For its fourth consecutive year,
Celanese Emulsion Polymers will exhibit its broad range of waterborne technologies at Interlakokraska
2010, the leading paints and adhesives exhibition for Russia. Under the business’ slogan, “Your Future is Our Focus…Worldwide”, the multinational
team from Celanese will discuss solutions to the industry’s most pressing topics at the four day fair. Celanese will present its Mowilith brand of emulsions for environmentally-friendly interior and exterior
paints as well as those for fire retardancy, wood and metal protection and thermal insulation (EIFS).
A
water-wall will symbolize the ‘power of water’ at the Celanese Emulsions’ stand. “With our waterborne emulsions, coatings can be formulated that are both ecologically-friendly and less
expensive than solvent-based paints”, said Michael Sauer, Regional Sales Director for Eastern Europe.
“There is no cheaper coalescing agent than water in formulating architectural paints and vinyl acetate/ethylene
(VAE) emulsions have this unique capability,” he said. Celanese has helped customers realize the power of water in formulating low VOC interior paints for
more than a decade.
Introducing VAE Technology for Exterior Paints
At
this year’s fair, Celanese will introduce Mowilith® LDM 1865 to the Russian audience for use in ecologically-friendly,
waterborne exterior coatings. In addition, the Celanese Emulsions’ technical service team will present the evolution of VAE technology
from interior matt paints to interior semi-gloss and now to exterior paints and plasters. “Mowilith LDM 1865 is an innovative VAE technology designed to improve the performance of outdoor weathering
including reduced dirt pick-up and fading,” said Sauer. In addition, this VAE emulsion is ideal for exterior thermal insulation systems (EIFS) and offers fire
retardant behavior in exterior paints and plasters.
Emulsions for Adhesives
Celanese
will also highlight their emulsions for paper packaging and converting adhesives, from vinyl homopolymers
and copolymers to VAE resins. Mowilith LDM 1081 is a versatile, VAE emulsion for a variety of end uses including paper, board, bags,
boxes, envelopes and even difficult to bond substrates such as film, foil and UV board. For woodworking, Celanese offers a wide range of emulsions for D1 through D4 and Watt 91 rated adhesives.
Members of the sales, marketing and technical teams will be available to discuss
Celanese’s emulsions for waterborne coatings and adhesives in addition to application properties and
end-use trends. “Celanese Emulsion Polymers is committed to growing our business in Russia and the Eastern European
region by supporting the paint and adhesives industries here,” said Sauer. “We look forward to partnering with local manufacturers to formulate low emission paints and high quality
adhesives in the region”, he said.
